When I was a kid, I had a rock tumbler. I remember putting dusty, ordinary-looking rocks inside, letting them tumble around for what seemed like forever, and eventually pulling out these beautiful, polished stones. It fascinated me that something so rough could become something so pretty just by going through a process.

I started thinking about how God does something similar with us. We all have rough edges, and sometimes the process of smoothing them out isn't particularly pleasant. But there's a purpose behind it.

That thought led me to some of the stones mentioned in the Bible. A small stone brought down a giant, while a much larger one sealed the tomb of Jesus. Two very different stones with very different purposes.

“A Stone” is really about how something ordinary can become extraordinary when placed in God's hands.
